The 2011 Holiday Ordering Season is but a fond memory.  We are no longer accepting orders, but we have left the order form on the website to encourage our visitors to think about the 2012 Holiday Season !!

There are four ways to order from Darthia Farm today:

1. Use this simple (one page - no foolin') credit-card order form below on our secure server

2. Call us at  1-800-285-6234 / 8am - 8pm (or 207-963-7771)

3. Fill out the order form below, then print it out and fax it to us at 1-207-963-7789. (But, you need to call us first so we can turn on the fax machine...)

4. Fill out the order form below, then print it out and mail it (and your check if applicable) to us at:

Order Particulars:

1. All prices include shipping by UPS and gift packaging.  Our gift card will be including in each package if requested below.

2. Please place orders by December 9.   Orders will be shipped the week of December 5 unless indicated otherwise below (optional ship dates: Week of November 21, November 28 or December 12). No orders shipped before Thanksgiving.

3. Orders shipped within Maine will be charged 5% sales tax for non food items.

4. There is a $15 per item surcharge for orders shipped to Canada, Hawaii and PO boxes.

5. Your running order-total is shown real-time at the end of the item pictures.

6. Upon completion of the order form, but before clicking on 'submit', print it out for your records.
         (Right-click with the cursor anywhere on the page, then select 'print'.)

7. Hit the 'tab' key after entering quantity for each item. The 'tab' key also moves you smartly through the form...

8. For orders with more than 8 ship-to addresses please create another order.

9. A little trivia: If you ordered 1 of each item in the catalog, you would buy 23 items for $1173. Pretty slick, huh?

Holiday Decorations
If you've been to Darthia Farm, you can imagine Bill, walking through our organic woodlot over a thin dusting of snow, choosing tips of balsam fir, perfect pine cones, and rosehips, to decorate your home for the holidays.
1. Wreath
Our 22" double-faced wreath is handmade here at Darthia farm by Geri Valentine with fresh balsam from our organically managed woodlot.

They are decorated with pine cones, rose hips, and a red weatherproof velvet bow.

For an extra special gift, we will send along with the wreath, on 8 oz jar of low sugar blueberry spread and one 8 oz jar of apple jelly wrapped in brightly colored tissue paper and placed in the center of the wreath.

Decorate your home for the holidays with this mixed assortment of balsam fir, pine, cedar, pine cones, and rose hips from the farm. Decorate your mantelpiece, holiday table, place in vases throughout your house. Your guests will love the scent of the Maine Woods and these fresh branches pruned lovingly from our healthy forest.

Beautiful 20" oval centerpiece made by Bianca to grace your holiday table. Fresh balsam fir, pine and cedar, with festive rose hips and pine cones will look fresh and stay fragrant throughout the holiday season. Perfect for friends who like to entertain! 5. Kissing Ball
Our hanging kissing ball will be the highlight of your holiday party. Real mistletoe isn't available any more and, frankly, these are more festive and fun. Our ball made from balsam fir tips with tufts of pine and cedar, decorated with small cones and red checked ribbon will delight your friends and family.

7. Cranberry Collection
We don't grow the cranberries here at the farm but get them from Pat and Mike in Ellsworth. They're certified organic. Last year the crop was ruined but this year it's better than ever. We make and pack three jars of cranberry preserves for you: cranberry whole berry sauce, cranberry jelly, and spicy cranberry preserve with cognac. What a great gift to send to friends and family to complement their Christmas goose or turkey.

8. 'Get the Blues' Jellies
Whoever heard of blueberry jelly? Well, we hadn't, either. So we tried it and came up with blueberry jelly, blueberry apple jelly, and blueberry currant jelly. We love 'em and so will you.

9. Delicious Preserves
This gift pack includes 8 oz. jars of strawberry jam, gooseberry jam, and ginger rhubarb jam. All the fruit is grown right here on Darthia Farm. Perfect on toast or with a bagel and cream cheese. This is jam like you remember from childhood.

Lovingly packed into a basket are a variety of five (5) jams, jellies, fruit spreads, and a bottle of maple syrup that will delight everyone on your list. 11. Picnic Basket
Again, we offer our picnic basket. We think this is the perfect gift for a family because it has something for everyone. We pack everything in a reusable 15 1/2" X 7 1/2" X 11" basket with evergreen boughs and pinecones that can be used for decorating. We will include four jams, then select lots of goodies like honey, syrup, a jar of salve. If you'd like, we'll include a package of our pancake mix. Let us know if you have any requests. Otherwise we will carefully choose the gifts to include.

13. Farm Breakfast
This package will delight your friends and family. Included is an 8 oz. bottle of pure organic, Maine maple syrup from Strawberry Hill Farm, an 8 oz. bottle of our own Darthia Farm blueberry syrup, a package of organic buttermilk pancake mix and one of buckwheat. If you whip your egg whites, you have a great waffle mix. What a delicious family Christmas morning breakfast!

Our shortbread cookies contain only three ingredients: organic butter, organic flour, and organic sugar. The recipe was brought to Nova Scotia from Scotland by Cynthia's great grandparents and will keep for months if you don't eat them all. A great cookie to serve when friends drop by. 11/2 pounds of round cookies beautifully packed with green and red holiday wax paper in our wooden box.

15. Beautiful natural brown or natural dyed handspun yarn.
5 oz. skein of handspun yarn and instructions to knit a hat. Choose a madder dyed, natural brown, weld/indigo chartreuse dyed, indigo dyed, or cochineal dyed. All the yarn is grown, dyed, carded, spun, and plied here by Cynthia. If you don't request a color, we will choose for you. The knitter on your list will love you forever.
   
 

15-A. Natural dyed handspun yarn - Madder Orange.
5 oz. skein of handspun yarn and instructions to knit a hat. All the yarn is grown, dyed, carded, spun, and plied here by Cynthia.

Madder orange comes from the roots of the madder plant and is the basis for red/orange colors used in the Unicorn Tapestries. I soak the roots for a week and then grind them to make this fabulous color.

Natural brown comes from our four "black" sheep and is lustrous and complex in color ranging from brown to almost black to highlights of grey.

5 oz. skein of handspun yarn and instructions to knit a hat. All the yarn is grown, dyed, carded, spun, and plied here by Cynthia.

Weld/indigo Chartreuse is a vibrant color acquired by topdyeing the brilliant yellow from the weld plant with indigo.

Indigo Blue starts as white wool, then is dyed with indigo grown right here at Darthia Farm using the traditional method of reduction and oxidation.

Cochineal Red comes from the ground up bugs that grow on cactus plants in Mexico. It is an ancient dye and used all over the world. Bonnie Prince CharlieÕs kilt was dyed with cochineal and indigo, not local plants as previously believed.

16 Fruitcake
It's back! This is no ordinary "butt of many jokes" fruitcake. Cynthia's been making them for friends and family for over 50 years. A white cake packed with dried fruit, almonds, coconut, brandy & sherry, wrapped in brandy-soaked muslin, ready to delight a drop-in holiday visitor. Packed with colorful waxed paper and foil in our wooden box. This will keep, wrapped in brandy, for a year, if you don't eat it. Made with organic flour, butter, nuts, sugar, and coconut, but not certified organic.
