Update from the Gardens
We are deep in planting time now. This short spell of drier weather has allowed us to enter into all of the gardens and get our seedlings, some of which were started in early March, into the ground. We have been ammending the gardens this spring (which we do every other year) with lime (for proper pH), rock phosphate (to offset our low Phosphorus levels), bonechar (for a slow release phosphorus and nitrogen), and compost (for life!). We have transplanted Bok Choi, Head Lettuce, Scallions, Fennel, Kale, Chard, and Parsley and we have direct seeded Carrots, Lettuce, Peas, Spinach, Cilantro, Dill, Radishes, Turnips, Beets, and Salad Mix. Lot's of babies poking through the ground!
