Update from the Gardens
Just as the new moon came, the season seemed to shift. The full moon of June is sometimes referred to as the Strawberry Moon, and it is definitely bringing strawberry plants into bloom here. Many other blossoms are showing themselves now, including the Fava Beans and Snap Peas. The warmth has returned, along with Cedar Waxwings and millions of Black Flies. With the soil finally warmed up, we were able to plant in our sweet corn in the garden down by the road. You'll notice we've surrounded it with a fence system to keep the deer out. We've been seeing signs of deer in the gardens way more than we ever have, and we are doing whatever we can to keep them away from all the newly emerging crops.
