Update from the Gardens

The soil was dry.  We had no forecast for rain last week and didn't get any, but we have gone forth with the energy of this past full moon and gotten many seeds and plants into the ground.  The seeds lay waiting for rain to wake them up.  We watered the transplants in by walking buckets of water up and down the aisles and pouring it over each plant.  Winter Squash and Pumpkins will own the garden patch to the right of the driveway (as you are coming up to the barn).  Our Sweet Potato plants that we started in the greenhouse in March, now live in the hoop house down the driveway past the store.  The tomatillos and sauce tomatoes have taken the garden next to that hoop house and are very happy to have plenty of space to spread out.  Now the rains have fallen and given them all the life they need!
