Update from the Gardens
With that deep rain last Thursday and the Solstice sun upon us, everything is exploding with growth and looking like summer is arriving in full form. The hay fields are a sea of daisies and buttercups. The cherry tomatoes have started ripening and the strawberries are showing hints of pink. I can practically watch the potatoes, squash, and beans grow significantly each day. We got our corn, outdoor tomatoes, and tomatillos planted just before the rain and they are already taking to the garden quite nicely. We just got our sweet potatoes planted and will transplant our melons and cukes this week. We had a very successful first hilling of the potatoes with the horses and the potato plants are thriving!
