Update From the Gardens

It seems the light and weather have shifted.  Blossoms are turning more quickly to fruit and the fruits are ripening more quickly.  Full sized spaghetti squashes are showing up in the Winter Squash and Pumpkin patch in the garden down by the road.  The rain today was steady and sustained enough to give the up and coming crops the water they need to move forward in their life.  This includes a second round of green beans, tomatillos, paste tomatoes, and a late round of cilantro and dill.  We had our first yellow watermelon and have just started to get ripe ears of corn off the variety we started early as a seedling.  The sweetness of the summer sun is creeping deep into the plants.  Soon we may be tasting peaches and honeydew.
