Update from the Gardens
Deep rains help revive the land for this later part of the season. The chard and kale show major signs of rejuvination. We have new plantings of radishes and mixed salad greens which are off to a fantastic start. The cold season carrots and beets seem to enjoy it most and we can practically see them swelling under the ground. The beets show their shoulders more each day and practically push themselves from the earth. We are in the heart of the sweet corn season now, with the late varieties starting to ripen. Soon, we will gather tomatillos and paste tomatoes for making salsa verde and canning tomato sauce.
