Update from the Gardens

Gifts of rain and gifts of long hours of sunlight are sending everything into the summer stage of growth. Milkweed is blossoming, potatoes (which require long hours of daylight to flower) are filling with blossoms, hollyhocks are budding out and preparing to burst open, and bean plants are leafing out with broad confidence. Sophia, who inhabits our A-Frame cabin, has been astounded this past week with the huge amounts of foliar growth the potato plants are doing right outside her window. The spirit of solstice is truly here and in the upcoming week, with the moon approaching full, I’m sure we will all be surprised by the growth we see.
