Update from the Gardens

The gardens have been hot and the growth continues to astound us.  Tomatoes are beginning to ripen on their vines in the hoop house!  With the last big plantings of the year ready to go in the ground, we were hesitant because of all the dry heat we were getting.  However, with a good chance of rain this past Friday, we planted all of our autumn brassicas (broccoli, cabbage, brussels, cauliflower), and our storage roots (carrots and beets) in the cooler evening on Thursday as the sun was setting.  Rain did arrive on Friday and our gardens are now all filled up with crops.
