Wet and Cold

Wet and Cold

Thank goodness for our seedling greenhouse and our High Tunnel hoophouses, because the weather and soil conditions have been a huge challenge.  The amount of rain we've had without the sun and warmth to dry it out has meant most of our gardens have been too wet for any kind of tillage or planting.  However, we were able to start planting in one of our high tunnels on March 5 and have been enjoying salad greens, spinach, pea shoots, radishes, and salad turnips since mid April.  Our seedling greenhouse has allowed us to get many of our garden crops started on time.  We've been able to get the seeds started and the plants growing while we wait for the time when we can prepare the gardens.
