Internship Opportunities (2024 Season)

General Farm Internship

The Darthia Farm Internship is a great opportunity to experience living and working on a small family farm that provides food to the local community. Internships can last from three to nine months and allow you to learn first hand how we cultivate a garden, distribute produce, meat, dairy, and other staples to the public, and how we care for livestock. We will be hiring three full time farm interns this season with the earliest start date being April 1.

Fiber Internship (Filled for 2024)

Cynthia is accepting applications for one fiber intern this year. This person will be participating in all the fiber related things we do on the farm including: planting and caring for flax, planting and caring for dye plants, preparing fleece (from our flock of sheep) for washing and dyeing, dyeing fleece with indigo and other natural dye plants, carding fleece, and spinning wool and flax. The fiber intern must be willing to work on projects independantly with guidance. We have lots of books and equipment available. This intern would also help in the gardens and commercial kitchen.

Farm Kitchen Internship (filled for 2024)

This internship focuses on the workings of the farm production kitchen. We sell a number of items in our farm store that we create on the farm in our licenced commercial kitchen. Some of them are made one or more times a week, and some are made once a year. They include pesto, hummus, salsa, yogurt, greek yogurt, salad dressing, bread, crackers, ground smoked cayenne, and more...
